Please read prize list, all rules and agreement below. You must understand and sign this agreement before you are able to audition and perform as a contestant of The New Southern Starz.



Terms used - us, we, its, our, will refer to The New Southern Starz, our partners, sponsors and anyone affiliated or associated with The New Southern Starz.



Terms used - you refer to any and all contestants, winners, friends and family of all contestants in our competition.



The New Southern Starz reserves the right to add, make changes to or delete prizes in our prize packages and The New Southern starz also has the right to dismiss, eliminate or disqualify any contestants as deem necessary during the taping of our show, includes any and all wining or non-winning contestants, with or without notification to contestants, winners, family, friends, sponsors, staff and anyone affiliated with contestant in our competition and/or voters of The New Southern Starz.



PRIZES



The New Southern Starz Prize Package for the 2008-2009 seasons:



(1) Grand Prize Winner will receive: A Certified Pre-owned Vehicle (valued at
$15,000.00) and FREE gas for the year.
(1) Second place Winner will receive $500.00 cash
(1) Third place winner will receive $250.00 cash



Prizes May Change Without Notification. The New Southern Starz has up to one week to present prizes to winners.



All shows are performed before a studio audience.



All photographs, videos, websites, voice recordings and promotional materials are the sole possession of The New Southern Starz . You may not use any materials without the written or verbal consent of The New Southern Starz.



We reserve the right to deny any person to enter into The New Southern Starz competition if we see such person is not qualified or doesn't possess the skills we are looking for in a contestant and any contestant at any time may be disqualified from competition if contestant does not abide by any rules of The New Southern Starz or doesn't appear during competition. All contestants and anyone affiliate with you must abide by said rules or will be disqualified from competition and escorted from facility.



The New Southern Starz vocal performing series will last a total of 6+ weeks. Our show may be held over if bad weather arises or any other reason we deem necessary. An applicant must be at least 17 years of age and older. Anyone under the age of 18 must get written consent from a guardian and they must accompany you to audition and to every performance during the duration that you are competing, any and all tapings, video shoots, photo shoots and all aspects thereof. Anyone under the age of 18 whose guardian isn't available during audition or any of the above will not be able to perform and may cause you to be eliminated. Contestants will be eliminated if you fail to appear or if you are late for your performance. Contestants will be considered late if they show up after 7:00p.m. No excuses.



You will need to submit an application to The New Southern Starz, and The New Southern Starz will contact you if we feel you possess the skills we are looking for in a contestant. At the time of audition, you will have 30 seconds to 1 minute to perform with your music (meaning you must bring a CD with music only, hook lines within music is acceptable. Acappella is also acceptable).



Things to bring with you to audition: You must bring a 30 second to 1 minute track (music only, hook-lines within music is acceptable. A cappella is also acceptable.), your printed receipt that was sent through your email if you registered online, or bring with you a copy of your receipt that was mailed to you, a valid ID with your photo and your current address, and a signed copy of this prize list-rules-and agreement form.



(Groups) If you are a group, we require that you have a group leader that will be responsible for other members of the group. Groups are considered as 2 people or more. Things to bring with you as a group to audition: You must bring a 30 second to 1 minute track (music only, hook-lines within music is acceptable. A cappella is also acceptable), your printed receipt that was sent through your email if you registered online, or bring with you a copy of your receipt that was mailed to you, a valid ID for each member in the group with your photo and your current address and a signed copy of this prize list-rules-and agreement form.



What we will not tolerate



We will not tolerate cheating, fighting, porn, sexual harassment, weapons (of any kind), or any unlawful behavior. Contestant will be disqualified if such behavior is known. Because The New Southern Starz will air on TV we CANNOT allow profanity, racial slurs, gang signs and disrespectful lyrics towards females and children. Anyone at the time of performance that breaks these rules will be disqualified and anyone affiliated with you must follow these rules.



Any person who enters into our competition will allow The New Southern Starz to photograph, voice record, and video tape, give interviews and promote you as we see necessary. You will give The New Southern Starz and its affiliate’s permission to post such photographs, video and voice recordings, interviews and any other material we have of you to use where we deem necessary to promote you and our competition. You understand that we will not pay you (including but not limited to family, friends, lawyers and co-workers, supervisors, managers, agency of any kind, promoters, producers of any kind and neighbors), for any materials we use of you during and after competition. We may use materials for (which may include, but not limited to) websites, CD covers, posters, video and voice recordings, commercials, radio or where The New Southern Starz deem necessary during and after competition. You may not use any photographs, voice recordings, websites (yours or ours) interviews or video to promote yourself for promotions or voting in any way without the written or verbal consent of The New Southern Starz. We will also not pay you for use of any video, photographs, websites, promoting, promotions or voice/video recordings we use of contestants, winners, your family, friends and anyone affiliated or associated with contestants and winners.



You must also understand that this competition is not a guarantee that you will receive a recording contract with a record label, television Production Company, modeling agency, talent agency or any form or the entertainment industry. The New Southern Starz is a company that will give you the tools to help you advance your career in the entertainment industry.



You or anyone affiliated with you (including, but not limited to, family members – immediate or extended, friends, lawyers, siblings, guardians, parents) will not sue The New Southern Starz, The New Southern Starz employees, any partners, sponsors, owner(s) of venue(s) and its entire Entities thereof or hold us responsible for any injuries, including but not limited to, injuries that result in death, accidental death or death from a previous injury or illnesses that may/can incur accidentally or on purpose, sexual harassment from other contestants or employees of The New Southern Starz, its partners and partners employees, venue(s) owners and their employees and any entities thereof associated or guest(s) including audience members in whole, from the time that you enter and exit venues and any common grounds of any venues that our production and any named above in this paragraph that we occupy.



All photographs, videos, websites and voice/video recordings and promotional materials are the sole possession of The New Southern Starz. Contestants and winners must agree to perform before (but not limited to), judges, staff, video cameras, radio, a studio audience, websites and any other performance The New Southern Starz deem necessary to promote you and The New Southern Starz. The New Southern Starz from time to time may have to change venue to suit our live audience, contestants and staff.



You will be judged on appearance, voice, music, and other areas that we deem necessary to promote contestants and/or winners, and to advance you on to the next round of competition. This is not a cumulative or average based competition it is based on how many supporters you can bring to the venue every week. All contestants must bring supporters to every show and the contestant with the least amount of votes will be placed on the block for possible elimination. The block is when at least four (4) or more contestants have not achieved enough votes/supporters on any given night to remain in the competition. In order to get off the block you must have your supporters to go online at www.southernstarz.net and vote for you through Pay Pal at a nominal fee of $1.99 or you as the contestant can collect the money from the supporters and bring a list of the people who have voted for you to the following show. The contestant who has collected the most block votes will remain in the competition. The Contestant who has collected the least amount will be eliminated. Any contestants or winners that do not abide by The New Southern Starz rules will be disqualified. You must agree to all terms stated above to enter into competition and to continue as a contestant or winner of The New Southern Starz. All winners must also agree to all terms stated above in order for The New Southern Starz to represent you at any events we deem necessary. Signing this prize list, rules and agreement constitutes that you have fully read, understand and will accept our terms.
